Hi there! I'm Win. I started my journey in 2014 when I began working at That Aquarium. What began as a simple hobby quickly turned into a passion for aquatic life, especially the beauty of underwater plants. I was captivated by their unique characteristics and their crucial role in maintaining a balanced ecosystem.
I chose to work at That Aquarium because I could see how much they genuinely care about aquatic life. Their focus on doing things right—whether caring for the fish and freshwater plants or creating a healthy and sustainable environment—really stood out to me. Plus, the team here is amazing; everyone is supportive and willing to share their knowledge with one another. It's the perfect place for me to learn, grow, and ensure I'm giving the best care I can to the plants and aquatic life.
For the past ten years (2014–2024), I've been the Supervisor of Underwater Plants and Customer Service. My responsibilities include overseeing the care and maintenance of our underwater plants, managing the inventory of hardware accessories, and collaborating with our design team to create stunning aquarium displays. I also guide and train team members on plant care and hardware usage, all while ensuring the health and well-being of the aquatic life in our care.
The constant opportunity to learn and grow keeps me motivated in this field. I enjoy seeing how my work positively impacts the aquarium ecosystem and sharing my knowledge with others—whether it's my team or our customers. This passion drives me daily and excites me about what's next.
If you're looking for advice on underwater plants or aquarium accessories, feel free to reach out to me when you visit That Aquarium, Clementi —I'd love to help you create your own aquatic paradise!

Hi! I’m Johnathon, and my passion for aquariums started in 2019 with my first Betta fish. I was instantly drawn to their vibrant colors and captivating beauty. Since then, I’ve expanded my collection to include Arowana and Channa and even planted aquariums. I’m always adding tanks to my home if space allows!
I love exploring local aquarium stores and watching online documentaries to deepen my knowledge about fishes and their diverse world. Working with the team at That Aquarium, Tampines, is incredibly fulfilling for me. Every water change is a therapeutic experience, and I take great satisfaction in seeing clean tanks, healthy fish, and happy customers who leave with quality livestock.

Let me share my story with you. My name is Zin, and I'm from Yangon, Myanmar. My journey began on November 17, 2014, when I discovered a passion so deep that it transformed my entire life. From that day onward, my world revolved around aquatic plants, the mysteries of underwater ecosystems, the science of water chemistry, and the art of aquascaping. What started as a simple fascination quickly grew into an all-consuming way of life. Every waking hour, minus the necessary eight hours of sleep, I dedicated myself to this newfound love.
Scarcity
But like all journeys worth taking, mine was filled with challenges. In Myanmar, acquiring the tools and knowledge necessary for my passion was far from easy. Language barriers stood in my way, and resources were scarce. Yet, I was determined. I reached out to international friends, absorbing every bit of knowledge they could share. The more I learned, the deeper my passion grew, fueling my desire to turn this hobby into a full-fledged career.
The Rise and Fall of the ADR Nature Aquarium Concept Store
My dream began to take shape in the form of a small shop in my hometown of Yangon. I named it “ADR Nature Aquarium Concept Store,” a place where my love for aquatic plants could truly flourish. At first, I didn’t know the names of the plants I was selling. I categorized them simply by their colors—red plants, green plants—and gradually began to memorize their names, their leaf shapes, their growing conditions. It wasn’t easy. Many of the necessary accessories weren’t available in Myanmar, so I had to learn the art of DIY, customizing what I needed from scratch. It was a daunting task, but one that I embraced with unwavering dedication.
On March 12, 2017, my dream became a reality. ADR Nature Aquarium Concept Store opened its doors, marking a significant milestone in my journey. To deepen my knowledge, I traveled to Thailand, immersing myself in the latest aquatic plant technologies. But this journey wasn’t just about learning; it was about building a community. My customers weren’t just buyers; they became my brothers, united by our shared love for aquascaping. Together, we laid the foundation for an aquascaping industry in Myanmar.
However, life had other plans. My beloved shop faced unforeseen challenges and had to close. The loss was devastating, plunging me into a deep depression. I had never encountered such adversity before, but my spirit remained unbroken.
Green Nature Aquarium Store - The Second Chance
On November 6, 2017, I rose from the ashes and opened a new store: “Green Nature Aquarium Concept Store.” This time, I was wiser and more experienced. I refined my techniques, determined to provide the best quality aquatic plants and designs for those who shared my passion. I constantly sought out new species, ensuring my customers always had something fresh and exciting to discover.
But my journey didn’t stop at plants. I began experimenting with DIY LED lights and water purification systems, eventually creating my own lighting and semi-automatic water parameter control systems for my tanks. My relentless pursuit of excellence transformed my shop into a beacon for aquatic plant enthusiasts in Myanmar.
Double Killed
However, life wasn’t done testing me. On March 23, 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic hit Myanmar, forcing me to close my shop once again. The dreams I had built seemed to crumble before my eyes, but I refused to let go. I spent the lockdown period deepening my knowledge, waiting for the day I could reopen my shop. In December, 2020, I took that leap of faith and reopened, even though the pandemic was still looming.
Triple Killed
My hopes were high, but just as things were starting to look up, a military coup on February 1, 2021, brought everything crashing down once more.
I found myself at a crossroads, my dreams slipping further away. The decision to permanently close my shop was heartbreaking, leaving me lost and uncertain of my future. Yet, even in the face of such despair, my determination remained unshaken. I continued to learn, immersing myself in the study of aquatic plants, ecosystems, and the environment.
A Glimpse of Light
Then, in April 2022, a new opportunity arose. I connected with That Aquarium in Singapore, a place that offered me a second chance for my dream. In November, 2022, I joined That Aquarium, Changi, and began rebuilding my vision, step by step. Each day, I work tirelessly to achieve my dream, grateful for this second chance.
This is my story—a story of passion, perseverance, and the unyielding belief that dreams are worth fighting for, no matter the obstacles. Even in the darkest times, hope can still bloom, just like the most vibrant of aquatic plants.
Hello! I'm Reeve, and my journey with That Aquarium began as a customer at our Yishun store. I've been keeping aquariums since my teenage years, though my aquarium journey has had its ups and downs due to life's commitments. Like many of you, I found myself diving back into the hobby during COVID-19, enjoying every aspect of it—from water changes to tank maintenance—as a relaxing, therapeutic, and satisfying experience.
I've kept a variety of fish, from Channa and Cichlids to monster fish and small community fish. I'm always curious and love experimenting with different products and fish combinations and creating unique setups. Right now, I have six tanks at home, and this is just the beginning—I'm always finding ways to add more tanks!
I'm here at That Aquarium, Changi to help you find joy in your aquarium journey and make your tanks as amazing as possible!
Hi there! I'm Minyu, and my love for aquariums started when I was just a 9-year-old boy. Unlike most kids my age, I was more fascinated by nature documentaries than cartoons, always captivated by the incredible diversity of fish. When my mom shopped for groceries at the wet market, I would be happily lost in the local fish shop, marveling at the tanks.
My passion for aquariums grew even before I had my first tank—I would borrow books on aquarium care from our National Library! My journey began with a humble 2ft tank I found at a void deck, and I've never looked back since.
I’m passionate about bringing the wonders of the underwater world to everyone. As an Environmental Studies major, I truly believe that the aquarium trade plays a crucial role in fostering environmental awareness, even among those who may not naturally be drawn to it. Our shop is like a window into the vibrant world beneath the water, showcasing its incredible beauty and diversity to everyone who visits.
I want to inspire the next generation of nature lovers, just like my own passion was sparked by a small aquarium store tucked away in a wet market corner. As an established industry in Singapore, I know it can be challenging to bring about change, but I’m always motivated by a challenge! I’m here to help modernize the industry and share this rewarding hobby with as many people as possible.
From Hobbyist to Lead Aquarist
I’ve been part of the That Aquarium family since the very beginning. I started as a regular customer, but my love for this place grew so much that I joined as a part-time Aquarist Assistant while still in school. I foresee That Aquarium as the perfect place to learn and grow, surrounded by a passionate team that shares my love for fish and aquatic life.
After graduating, I decided to join full-time because I genuinely enjoy handling fish and other livestock. Also, working with such passionate colleagues gives me confidence and motivates me daily. Now, as the Lead Aquarist at That Aquarium, Changi, I’m here to ensure every fish gets the best care possible and to help you create a thriving aquarium you’ll love!
Our Aquarist Team Mission
I’m proud to lead our dedicated aquarist team, where we take care of thousands of fish, ensuring they thrive in the right water conditions, live harmoniously with each other, and receive the best feeding and care, including medication, when needed.
Our mission is simple: to ensure that every fish that leaves our store is healthy, happy, and ready to bring joy to your home. We strive to provide you with quality livestock that brings you peace of mind.
Beyond caring for the fish, I’m also passionate about training my team to help you keep your aquariums thriving. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned hobbyist, we’re here to guide you every step of the way so you can have the most successful and enjoyable aquarium experience possible!
I'm excited to share my lifelong love for aquariums with you and help you create your own little slice of nature at home!
I’ve been splashing around in the aquarium world since I was a bright-eyed Primary 2 kid at just 10 years old. I even brought my betta fish to show-and-tell.
Like many of you, I was once a beginner too, and I totally get that buzz of excitement (and occasional panic) when diving into this hobby. That’s why I’m passionate about making the aquarium journey as fun and rewarding as possible — so you can keep that smile on your face and those good vibes flowing!
I’m especially hooked on betta fish, koi, and goldfish, and I love crafting beautiful underwater homes for our aquatic buddies. My goal? To make sure our products and services keep you (and your fishy pals) smiling, because let’s face it — life’s too short not to enjoy every bubble and splash!
You can usually catch me at the Yishun store (probably geeking out over some new fishy find). If you need assistance, just WhatsApp the Yishun store — I’m always happy to help!
When I was just a curious kid, I used to watch my uncle’s fish tanks for hours — it left such a deep impression on me that I basically evolved from human to fish-enthusiast overnight! Fast forward to when I was around 18 (young and ready to make waves!), I started dreaming of keeping fish back home. But life had other plans, and I moved to Singapore for my studies.
Every time I saw a stunning aquascape, I got this unstoppable urge to build my own. When I finally did, I realized just how satisfying it is to plan the layout, pick the right plants, and bring everything together like a fishy feng shui master!
My curiosity quickly turned into a passion — learning which plants and fish live in harmony (no underwater soap operas, thank you very much!). That curiosity still drives me today.
At That Aquarium, I get to live my fishy dream every day. My main gig? Keeping our aquatic plants healthy, happy, and fabulous — trimming, arranging, and making sure they’re the underwater superstars they deserve to be. I also love helping customers pick the right plants and fish, guiding them step-by-step so they can succeed and smile (no fishy tears here!).
What keeps me motivated? Seeing beginners transform into confident fishkeepers, thanks to the right advice and support. Too many people give up too soon, and I want to change that. Every time I help someone build a beautiful tank or solve a water problem, I’m reminded of how rewarding this hobby is.
So, if you need some plant-trimming magic or advice on how to turn your tank from blah to ahh, you’ll probably find me at the shop, ready to share my fishy knowledge with a big smile. Because, at the end of the day, it’s not just about selling fish — it’s about creating joy, one tank at a time!
Hey there! My passion for fishkeeping started in childhood, thanks to my dad who sparked my curiosity with his own love for the hobby. I started with small wild fish from water drains, and when we moved on to goldfish, I truly fell in love. My dad’s encouragement made this more than just a hobby — it became a meaningful part of my life.
At That Aquarium, I focus on caring for fish, keeping them healthy and happy, and helping customers with advice tailored to their setups and species. I love working here because it’s the perfect place to learn and grow while sharing that passion with others.
What keeps me going? Watching fish thrive under my care — it’s the most rewarding feeling and a reminder of why I started. I’m always excited to learn more and help others succeed in their aquarium journey!
I practically grew up surrounded by fishy friends — thanks to my parents’ splash-tacular collection of Arowanas, Discus, and all those fin-tastic beauties. My mum’s secret weapon? She got hooked on aquascaping and introduced me to MD Fish Tanks on YouTube. Let’s just say my brain went ka-boom (in a good way) watching those videos. That’s how the “Monster Aquascape” at home came to life — blame it on my unstoppable fishy enthusiasm!
Now I’m living the aquarist dream at That Aquarium. My main gig? Making sure our fish quality is top-notch (no fish left behind!). I also love guiding customers so they don’t leave the shop scratching their heads, wondering why their guppy went on strike or their filter suddenly looks like a disco ball.
You’ll also catch me helping my Lead Aquarist handle stock and making sure the shop’s as vibrant as our fish. I actually used to be a regular customer here at That Aquarium Changi — and let’s be honest, I was hooked (pun intended) by the staff’s super helpful and info-packed advice. You don’t just get fish here; you get the inside scoop that no one else bothers to tell you. Plus, the vibes are always friendly and full of positive energy — my kinda place!
Every day I’m learning more and more, and I’m always ready to share that fishy knowledge with anyone who walks in. Because hey, it’s not just about selling fish — it’s about making fishkeeping fun, easy, and rewarding for everyone.
Hi, I’m part of the aquarist team here at That Aquarium, Changi!
I first joined as an intern — still learning, still figuring things out. But the more time I spent around aquariums, the deeper my interest grew. Now, I help care for our fish tanks, support with daily shop tasks, and share practical advice with customers to help them succeed in their own fishkeeping journey.
I’ve always loved the peacefulness of nature — from fish to plants to flowing water. Being around them brings me a sense of calm and joy. And I’m always learning something new alongside the amazing team here.
If you ever need help or have questions, come say hi! I’m always happy to share what I’ve learned. 😊
